He revealed in a recent Q&A with the SAG-AFTRAFoundation that he "hated" the original concept of The Falcon And TheWinter Soldier. “When the pitch for the show came up, we never talked about it.It was more about the continuation of what was going to happen with the shield,whether it was going to be Bucky or Sam, because Sam didn't accept the shield at the conclusion of Endgame,” Anthony Mackie told the outlet.
He told Steve, “‘It feels like this is someone else’s,it feels like it’s yours.’ So at no point in time was he excited or lookingforward to the idea of becoming Captain America.” Anthony Mackie added, “So itwas more so Kevin [Feige] and Nate [Moore] telling me, ‘We’re not sure what’shappening, so the show (The Falcon And The Winter Soldier) will be more about the idea or the archetype of Captain America, not you becoming Captain America.’ So I was really confused leaving out of the meeting. But I wasn’t excited either. I hated the idea. I thought it was gonna be an awful idea (laughs).”
Now that he's Captain America, he'll be getting hisown movie, Captain America 4. It's a spin-off from the Disney+ series' events.
