So fasten your seat belts as we are going to take you on a romantic ride.
Love is a feeling that most of us love experiencing, not just an emotion. Fortunately, you don't have to be in love to experience this emotion. Don't be disappointed if you don't have your loved one with you throughout the holidays. To get in the mood, all you have to do is turn on Netflix and chill while watching best romantic movies on Netflix.
We're not suggesting you can't watch these movies with your significant other. These top 6 romantic flicks will give you all those lovely romantic vibes whether you're in love or not. Thankfully, most of the great love movies of all time are still available to stream, from The Notebook to La La Land. So, buckle up because we're about to take you on a lovely ride.
The Notebook
When it comes to genuine romance, how could this lovely 2004 film be left off the list? If you haven't seen this timeless love story starring Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams, you are missing out on one of the best romantic films ever made. This romantic comedy, based on a Nicholas Sparks novel, spans decades, alternating between a couple's first blush of love in the 1940s and the present-day reality of how that relationship has evolved in old age. And, though that is touching, we tend to forget what happened after Ryan and Rachel's rain-soaked kissing session. The good news is that you can watch this classic on Netflix for free.
The Half Of It
It's not every day that we watch a romantic film with a same-sex relationship. Although there have been some memorable ones in the past, this Alice Wu directed picture starring Leah Lewis and Daniel Diemer is the most recent addition to this list. Ellie Chu stars in The Half of It, a film about a girl who tries to help a jock compose a love letter to his crush in exchange for money. However, things become tricky when Ellie falls in love with the same girl. Alice Wu accomplishes both originality and universality by conveying a personal story influenced by pieces of her own childhood.
Falling Inn Love
Not all romantic films have to be dramatic and full of romance; some, like this Netflix film directed by Roger Kumble, may be light. Falling Inn Love is a warm and welcome film that doesn't reinvent the wheel, but it does provide a lovely place to rest one's head for those looking for a cosy new romantic comedy. This Christina Milian and Adam Demos film isn't high art, but it's a fun way to switch off your brain and watch gorgeous people have fun together.
Flipped
There are times in adolescence when your romantic feelings can shift on a dime. This is a sweet film about a girl who has loved a boy since he moved into the neighbourhood in second grade. Maybe it's because of this pure young romanticism that Flipped is such wonderful entertainment. Furthermore, after seeing this film, you will be left wondering how it recreates a life that we wish we had when we were 14. This is true for adults, and I believe it is true for some 14-year-olds as well.
La La Land
This Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone blockbuster will undoubtedly be included in every romantic film list, regardless of when it is released or who directs it. It's a visual poem that serves as a welcome respite from the stress, traffic, and divisiveness that pervades our lives. You don't have to think about it; all you have to do is watch it. The stars are beautiful. The tunes are enjoyable to listen to. The camera even pulls you out of your seat to accompany you on the ride. Oh, and the ending is unexpectedly excellent. You'll be left in a state where you don't know whether to be pleased or sad, which is, in my opinion, the beauty of La La Land. What are you waiting for? It's also available on Netflix, so what are you waiting for?
Five Feet Apart
Last but not least, this Cole Sprouse and Haley Lu Richardson film had to be included. Just a heads up: if you plan on watching this, keep plenty of tissue sheets on available because you will need them. This video will strike all of your emotional chords, and you will not be able to pull out of it easy, even after it is finished. But you should give this one a try since it will show you that not all love tales are the same, and that you may love someone even if you can't physically touch them.
