Radhe Box Office: Yes, in this pandemic-strickenplanet, Bollywood releases have had a difficult time at the box office. Byreleasing on both OTT and in theatres, Salman Khan's Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai set the precedent for hybrid releases. The second wave was poor news for the picture, as it only managed to get three theatres across India in its first week.
Because the entire country was under a rigorouslockdown at the time of its release, only three cinema halls in Tripura wereauthorised to show the film. Fortunately, places in Maharashtra such as Malegaon and Aurangabad were also allowed to release the film in the second week.
According to Bollywood Hungama, Salman Khan's Radheearned roughly 63,000 in Tripura in its first week. In the second week, itadded Maharashtra's Aurangabad and Malegaon, bringing the total to almost 30,000.
The film has gathered over 11,000 in three days at thebox office as it enters its third week. This brings the total cost of the filmto $1,04,000. In retrospect, it may not appear to be a large number, but given the conditions across the country in recent months, any number of people returning to the theatres (with care) is a positive number.
Salman's Eid release was met with a barrage ofcriticism and was ruthlessly mocked on Twitter shortly after its publication. It became the Dabangg actor's lowest-rated picture on IMDb. Prabhudeva was widely chastised for his "directionless" direction. Salman earned outrage despite the poor screenplay and the duo of Disha Patani.
